FTISLAND has returned with 4th regular album, FIVE TREASURE BOX.
The only people who can be relied upon are the members - We feel that it's a bit wasteful.
There are no rules preventing us from dating, but we don't have any one in mind.
The attention towards music... All the members participated in composing and writing.
The hit song, "I Wish", has the charms belonging to a band.
Averaging 22 years of age, an age where they are interested in the opposite sex; having debuted for 6 years but never having encountered a love which allows them to put down everything to pursue; everyone is single, so their biggest headache now is "Dating". From 21 to 23 years old, like friends with only a one-year age difference get along with each other: This is the five-person band, FTISLAND.
Thinking that "Dating" is the biggest headache, they have successfully concluded last week's solo concert which drew a crowd of 8000-over fans; also concluding their past year's Asia Tour in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries.
"Maybe because of our never-ending busy life, we feel that work is completed smoothly. But when there is no work to do, the only people we can rely on are the members; I always feel a little insecurity and pity. Looking at it like this, it feels that the time period of being rookies was better: The company doesn't restrict us from not dating, but we want to date and can't. My ideal type is a girl who is very easy-going and has a mature character." (Lee Jaejin)
After the issue of dating, there's another problem which they have to worry about from work, that is, the role of FTISLAND as a band, and the "rock spirit" which they wish to present.
"The concert we held this time, too, truthfully, we wanted to try the things we wanted to do in the new album; we wanted to sing more emotional and rock-ish songs. But because we had to consider many aspects, so we had differing opinions with the producers. The members also strongly expressed their opinions, so this time when creating this album, we met with many clashese. In the end, we found a compromise, which is the hit song, "I Wish"." Released on the 10th is FIVE TREASURE BOX, FTISLAND's 4th regular album. After going through the activities catered to the past mini-albums, they have returned with 10 solid songs after a gap of 3 years, and all members have participated in lyrics-writing or composition, so this is an extraordinarily special album. The hit song, "I Wish", has its charms with the guitar and the trumpet; form the start till the chorus, the repetitive rhythm has its addictive charm.
"In reality, FTISLAND's songs are centred around songs with addictive charm. Although this is one of our strengths, to a band, it is a restrictive weakness. The later part of the hit song demonstrated the charms of a band, so starting from the back, we put in many lavish sounds." (Song Seunghyun)
"Five Treasure Box", like the album is named, that's how the members worked hard to put in their own charms into their music.
"Everyone need only to present their charms through music, wanting to present themselves through their instruments. Also, because we are a band, we have a wild ambitions towards creating pieces. Compared to learning even more of other things, when we have free time, we would try to compose, improving our potential with this." (Choi Minhwan)
In this interview, the main vocal, Lee Hongki, was not interviewed together with the other members because of personal matters. The members did not hold back and even explained the parts for which Lee Hongki was responsible for. Choi Minhwan said, "Hongki hyung asks for everyone to anticipate his trademark lavish handsigns. It's a signature dance; it will look very fresh."
